Commitment Ceremonies

A commitment ceremony is a beautiful alternative to a wedding for those who are not legally able to marry, not free to marry or who simply don't wish to marry.  It is a celebration of your love and a public declaration of your desire to live together in a committed relationship. 

There are no rules in creating your ceremony, although as a marriage celebrant I must make it clear to your guests that it is a commitment ceremony and not a marriage.  Apart from this your choices are endless!  You may wish to follow the format of a traditional wedding ceremony or go for something totally different.  Whatever type of ceremony you choose, I'll work with you to create something special and meaningful to you both.

You may include readings, poetry, music or even sub-ceremonies such as candle lighting or sand ceremonies.  You can write your own special vows if you choose and exchange rings.  At the conclusion of your ceremony you will be presented with a Commitment Certificate and a beautifully bound copy of your ceremony as a keepsake.
